Using the Moleskin..

*Brushes dust off the blog*...Just a quick post. I finally have decided to use my moleskin I recieved from my best friend, Jamila. I bought three more just like it so I probably should, right?

This little doodle was just something to get me focused away from something that was aggrevating me at the time. I love little flourishes like this drawn out. I don't care how you feel about them, they always intrigue me and no two are ever the same. These things are really about balance and flow. You want it to be weighted at one point or another or transition from one thing to another. I'll have to s have and older one I did another time..

This one...not really sure what was going on here. Drawing without thinking can lead to very interesting sketches and pieces. I guess you could go Freudian on me and say it's a suggestive subconscious matter manifesting on my moleskin......But would you dare?

Both were done in Sharpie pen in black...I was never a page filler. I really want to change that though. So much paper~ Have a good one you guys!

No rhyme or reason...

I wish I had a rational explanation for this little diddy here...I was trying to figure out how to draw a logo for Angry Kimchi. Koreans make turnip kimchi...I thought of a turnip. Then I thought, how do I make that angry? This is obviously NOT IT. It looks like it's about to bust a move.. But I drew it on a Post-It note and stuck it on my monitor to remind me to be silly sometimes..

Notes at a Meeting #9+December ATC.

And this my friends...was the ultimate meeting day...

I remember how long that one was. I thought I was going to lose my mind. So I did a little cartoon to entertain myself along witht he randomness...I find irritation and absolute want of not being in the place you're in makes you more creative.

The Thursday before Christmas my best friend and I decided we should do our final ATC swap...Now, after doing these for the past 10 months I was thoroughly out of ideas. Thank goodness I sketched 3 ATC cards out during November because I was drawing nothing but artistic blanks for this little damn card!

The idea was finding the your own way in life. Either go one way and find the same old things you have always had, or take a new road into the unknown. They'll both eventually lead you back home but at least with the latter choice you'll experience fun new things. I'm making my own attempt to travel down the second road...

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a great New Year. I've unexpectantly had to take my dad back to his own home to lay to rest his youngest brother who passed on Christmas morning. His funeral is tomorrow. He was a troubled but loved man, RIP Uncle Marvin...

Notes at a Meeting #7...

Oh, me, it was another productive meeting that day, doesn't it seem? Alliteration is my middle name and it was Halloween, moer button ideas!
